Best Watering Tips
- Always water so that your last zone goes off by 7:00 AM.
- For Mist Zones, watering in normal weather conditions should be three times a week, 10 minutes per zone.
- For rotary heads, Hunter I-20, PGP, watering in normal weather conditions should be three times a week, 20-25 minutes per zone. If you have a zone with 360 degree heads only, water 30-40 minutes per zone.
- These times and days are for homes that have adequate loam (4" to 6" inches). If you have sandy soil you should increase the amount of days you water a week and decrease the amount of time, subtracting 5 minutes for mist heads and 15-20 minutes for rotary heads for each zone.
- Drip zones should run 30-40 minutes, 4 times a week.
- These are suggested times. You should always water less and increase times as needed. You want the roots of your grass to search for water deep in the soil.
- In the hot summer months, do not cut your grass short. It exposes the roots to the heat.
